Oh dear god, they also have an egg cozy!
Yesterday as I was walking back from the post office I stopped into my oh so favorite knitting shop and made my first commitment to the tea cozy project - I bought the book that contained the pattern.Reading through, the pattern doesn't seem too complicated. When I saw there was a pattern for a matching egg cozy I knew I had to do that one first. I figure it will be a good way to test out the pattern before I commit myself to a whole tea pot. Is there a need for an egg cozy? Not really, but look how cute it is!
I am having a hard time deciding on the yarn for the egg cozy (later to be used in the tea cozy). The color combo suggested by the pattern is quite lovely, but I want to see if I could do something more my own.

I'm thinking that with the Savannah & Glacier it will give it a more antique feel. If I go with that color combo I would probably opt for off-white or beige pearl beads rather than the pure white ones shown in the pictures. Which way do you think I should go?
And to be a knitting nerd for a just a but more - last night I picked up the clapotis I started so very long ago. I became frustrated with it after I ripped it four times in 10 minutes. So I put it down and it became this thing I couldn't pick-up again. But somehow, last night I got over my fear of it and cast it on once again. Unfortunately it looks like I'll have to rip it again because I messed up on the 14th row on the ssk (I got confused and thought I was suppose to slip, slip and then knit the next one, not knit the two slipped) but I'm fine with that because I've gotten farther on the pattern then I have before and I'm only on the 14th row. I'm feeling more confident with the clapotis and I'm hoping to finish it soon.

I love Nina's also, but Wicker Park post office is truly the worst post office on the planet. Antiqued beads would look pretty with the antiqued color combo.
Very true about the WK post office. There is always a line out the door. Fortunately I do most of my postage online so I only go there to drop off.
the soft brown and icy blue are gorgeous - that would be my vote!
